Rony: How are you, friend?
Razu: I am fine and you?
Rony: I am also fine. But why do you look so worried?
Razu: You are right. I am somewhat worried about soil pollution.
Rony: Oh, Yes! Soil pollution is one of the biggest problems the world faces today. It is being polluted day by day.
Razu: You are absolutely right. This polluted soil causes much harm to us.
Rony: Exactly! But what are you thinking about its consequences?
Razu: The consequence of soil pollution is an issue that troubles us economically, physically and everyday of our lives.
Rony: Absolutely! Besides, Soil pollution is caused by the presence of xenobiotic (human-made) chemicals or other alteration in the natural soil environment. It is typically caused by industrial activity, agricultural chemicals, or improper disposal of waste. What is your idea about it?
Razu: I agree with you. I think the plants and animals are likely to be extinct on account of increasing soil pollution.
Rony: Exactly! Toxic dust, Reduction in soil fertility, Loss of the natural nutrients of the soil, Imbalance is the flora and fauna of the soil, alteration in soil structure, causing death of many soil organisms because of soil pollution.
Rahim: Yes, of course. Besides, due to soil pollution we are suffering from various kinds of diseases.
Rony: You are right. But how can we prevent soil from being polluted?
Razu: Soil pollution can be prevented in many ways. But the main way is to make the people aware of its harmful effect.
