Communication Gap

Communication gap is a state that occurs when what is being said is not been communicated to the addressee properly and completely. It occurs when communication is not happening when it should be. For example, a well reported communication gap is present between Ministers of the European Parliament and voters. With such vast areas to represent they gauge very little of the general opinion and because of this difficulty people decline to provide input and comment and ultimately it leads to a lack of progress. This is the exact same in a business; be it internal management or external advertising.

Actually Communication gap is the biggest hurdle in achieving the organizational goal and does not help at all in achievement of organizational goal. Communication gap in an organization means that the goals and objectives that are set by the top management are either not communicated to the employees of the organization at all levels or if communicated they are not been understood properly by…

Communication Barriers

Most people would agree that communication between two individuals should be simple. It’s important to remember that there are differences between talking and communicating. When you communicate, you are successful in getting your point across to the person you’re talking to. When we talk, we tend to erect barriers that hinder our ability to communicate. There are seven of these types of barriers to effective communication.

There are followings Communication Barriers we face daily:
Physical barriers are easy to spot – doors that are closed, walls that are erected, and distance between people all work against the goal of effective communication. While most agree that people need their own personal areas in the workplace, setting up an office to remove physical barriers is the first step towards opening communication. Many professionals who work in industries that thrive on collaborative communication, such as architecture, purposefully design their workspaces around an “open office” pl…

Encoding and Decoding

Encoding and Decoding seem like similar words, but they are opposites. They do share a relationship, and one is as necessary as the other when it comes to dealing with the transfer of information in computers and beyond. Any type of information can be encoded or decoded by a variety of means.

Encoding:Encoding takes information and transforms it into something else. This can be as simple as encoding a written message into a coded form. This makes the message hard to decipher for others. Computers use encoding when handling various files. If a CD track is ripped into an MP3, the program used to do this is encoding that track into a file that the computer or MP3 player can use. Any time information is rearranged or morphed into a coded form, it is being encoded.

Decoding:Decoding is taking information and returning it to its original form. That MP3 track that you ripped is decoded by your computer or MP3 player into music that you can hear. By using a code sheet or other pattern, a coded …

In a process of communication there are some elements which make the communication easier and systematic. For example: according to Herald D. Lasswell there are five elements or components of communication such as source, message, channel, receiver and effect.

This whole process can be depicted through the following diagram.

How to make your children do their homework

The Chief Inspector of Schools says parents should make sure their children do their homework. But how to do it without making them hate you? Rosie Millard explains How to make your children do their homework Boys (and girls) creeping to school with satchels full of homework. Shakespeare knew about it, and boy, do our children know about it. And now, here's that Sir Michael Wilshaw bending his cane and telling parents that we should be fined if we don't ensure our offspring get it done.

Every night Sir Michael, the Chief Inspector of Schools, is on the warpath about "bad parents" – especially, he says, white, working-class ones – who can't be bothered to read with their children or turn up for their parents' evenings, and allow them to skip their homework.

Well, Sir Michael, I do have a bit of a love/hate thing with homework going on. I hate it when my children don't do it, and I love doing it for them. Indeed, my son once achieved the highest-ever grade…

Rule-1 related Example: What is d/dx (x5)?
Solution: The question is asking "What is the derivative of x5 "? Where, n=5 We know, d/dx (xn) = nxn-1 Now, d/dx (x5) = 5x5−1 = 5x4 (In other words the derivative of x5 is 5x4)

Great Ship Titanic

An American shipping co. launched the great ship Titanic in1912. It was the biggest and the mot luxurious ship of that time. The weight of the ship was 46,000 tons. It had carrying capacity of 2,200 passengers. At that time, however, she was not only the largest ship that had been built, but also regarded as unsinkable, for she had sixteen watertight compartments. The owner of the ship was boastful of it.

The Titanic made her first voyage from Southampton to New York on 10 April, 1912. She was carrying 1316 passengers and a crew of 891. All the passengers were in happy mood and enjoying themselves. The tragic sinking of this great liner will always be remembered for she went down on her first voyage with heavy loss of life. Four days after setting out while the Titanic was sailing across the icy-water of the North Atlantic, a huge iceberg was suddenly spotted by a look out. After the alarm had been given the great ship turned sharply to avoid a collision. Suddenly there was slight trem…

Who would tie the bell?

Who would tie the bell? There was a grocery shop in a town. Plenty of mice lived in that grocery shop. Food was in plenty for them. They ate everything and spoiled all the bags. They also wasted the bread, biscuits and fruits of the shop.

The grocer got really worried. So, he thought "I should buy a cat and let it stay at the grocery. Only then I can save my things."

He bought a nice, big fat cat and let him stay there. The cat had a nice time hunting the mice and killing them. The mice could not move freely now. They were afraid that anytime the cat would eat them up.

The mice wanted to do something. They held a meeting and all of them tweeted "We must get rid of the cat. Can someone give a suggestion"?

All the mice sat and brooded. A smart looking mouse stood up and said, "The cat moves softly. That is the problem. If we can tie a bell around her neck, then things will be fine. We can know the movements of the cat".

“Yes, that is answer,” stated all …

A Wise Counting

A Short Popular Story about: A Wise CountingEmperor Akbar was in the habit of putting riddles and puzzles to his courtiers. He often asked questions which were strange and witty. It took much wisdom to answer these questions.

Once he asked a very strange question. The courtiers were dumb folded by his question.

Akbar glanced at his courtiers. As he looked, one by one the heads began to hang low in search of an answer. It was at this moment that Birbal entered the courtyard. Birbal who knew the nature of the emperor quickly grasped the situation and asked, "May I know the question so that I can try for an answer".

Akbar said, "How many crows are there in this city?"

Without even a moment's thought, Birbal replied "There are fifty thousand five hundred and eighty nine crows, my lord".

"How can you be so sure?” asked Akbar.

Birbal said, "Make you men count, My lord. If you find more crows it means some have come to visit their relatives he…

The Necessity of Cleanliness

Cleanliness is the habit of keeping clean. It is a noble quality and a great virtue. If we want to keep in good health, we have to observe cleanliness in all affairs. Every religion emphasizes the importance of cleanliness. It is on of the four pillars of Islam.

Our holy prophet laid a great stress on it. It is a part of our faith. A man in Islam is disallowed from observing religious rites if he is not clean in body and mind. Cleanliness is next to Godliness’’ is a wise saying. This also upholds the necessity of cleanliness in life. Cleanliness makes everything look cheerful and fresh. The tradition of washing hands before meals is a sign of cleanness.

Unclean surroundings dirty dwelling houses and kitchens, dirty clothes, bedding etc. Create unhealthy atmosphere. Even in our ordinary daily life we see that a man in dirty body and clothes are objects of hatred of others. Dirtiness and diseases go together because dirtiness breeds the germs of diseases.

Safety is the first importance

Short Story abou A Town Mouse and a Country Mouse A Town Mouse and a Country Mouse were friends. The Country Mouse one day invited his friend to come and see him at his home in the fields. The Town Mouse came and they sat down to a dinner of barleycorns and roots the latter of which had a distinctly earthy flavor.

The flavor was not much to the taste of the guest and presently he broke out with “My poor dear friend, you live here no better than the ants. Now, you should just see how I fare! My larder is a regular horn of plenty. You must come and stay with me and I promise you shall live on the fat of the land."

So when he returned to town he took the Country Mouse with him and showed him into a larder containing flour and oatmeal and figs and honey and dates.

The Country Mouse had never seen anything like it and sat down to enjoy the luxuries his friend provided. But before they had well begun, the door of the larder opened and some one came in. The two Mice scampered off an…
