The Victory Day

The Victory DayThe 16th December 1971 is a red letter day in the history of Bangladesh. On this day the barbarous Pakistani army surrendered to the joint command of the Indian army and Bangladesh liberation forces. Through the surrender of the Pakistani army, the nine month’s sanguinary war came to an end on this day and Bangladesh came into being as an independent sovereign state.

As such, this day is regarded as the victory day. It is a day of pride and glory to nation. Our liberation forces (Mukthi Bahini) fought valiantly against the barbarous Pakistani forces and drove them away from the soil of Bangladesh forever. So, this victory day is a symbol of triumph of justice over tyranny, of truth over falsehood and of freedom over slavery. This day reminds us of the bravery and patriotism of our people for the motherland.

We celebrate the day every year in a ceremonious way to commemorate the martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom of Bangladesh. Since that day we are a fre…

Composition about Importance of Mobile Phone Mobile phone is one of the blessings of Modern science. It has brought the world very closer to us. The word distance has become elusive with the invention of mobile phone. One can communicate with his near and dear ones within a minute at whatever distance they are.

We no longer need to count days waiting for letters sent from a place for away. A mother need not shed tears for the absence of her son who lives in a remote place or in another country. She can talk to her son over mobile phone when she feels sad.

Junk Food

Junk FoodJunk food is one of food, which is made for its pungent taste. It does not have any food value. It looks very appealing to everybody but it's not good for health. It often contains added chemicals, which make it taste soothing but are unhealthy. It usually contains a lot of animal fat or sugar.

Foods such as chips, burgers, crisps, cakes and biscuits are all junk foods and are rich in animal fats. When we eat a large quantity of these foods our bodies turn them into fatty tissue which can damage our health. On the other hand, sweets and fizzy drinks like cola and lemonade contain a high quantity of sugar. Our skin and teeth are damaged owing to intake of large quantity of sugar. Junk food also lacks the vitamins and minerals, which are very essential for human body. It is, in no ways, useful to our health. We should reduce dependence on junk food considering health risk and eat enough homemade foods to maintain good health.
